Three institutions — one shared ambition. The Space Systems Innovation Platform (SSIP) in Lucerne, the Satellite Industry Association of India (SIA-India) in New Delhi, and the CoE Space Tech Foundation in Bengaluru have formalised a strategic framework designed to move the India–Switzerland space relationship from diplomatic dialogue into executable industrial partnerships.
The framework is deliberately practical. It converts institutional alignment into a structured pipeline of bilateral missions, industrial matchmaking, startup soft-landing programmes, joint R&D and long-term talent development — anchored in Switzerland's precision-engineering and research base and in India's rapidly expanding space and deep-tech economy.
For SSIP, the initiative marks a decisive step in positioning Lucerne as a trusted European gateway into the Indian space ecosystem, and for Indian organisations, a direct European channel through the SSIP Digital Twin Service, its industrial network and its international convening infrastructure.

SSIP
An independent international innovation platform connecting industry, academia and global partners to accelerate space-enabled innovation and commercialisation.
SIA-India
Representing satellite operators, manufacturers, suppliers, startups and academic institutions across the Indian space ecosystem, headquartered at Bhikaji Cama Place.
CoE Space Tech Foundation
Implementing entity of the Centre of Excellence in Space Technology, a Government of Karnataka initiative supporting innovation and ecosystem collaboration.

Where the bridge creates industrial value
The partners have identified an initial set of priority technology areas combining industrial expertise, research capabilities, market access and international collaboration: Satellite Communications, Earth Observation, Orbital Infrastructure, Space-Enabled Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing and AI-Enabled Technologies.
From cooperation to commercial projects
The immediate roadmap prioritises four activation tracks: joint R&D projects, startup soft-landing pipelines, bilateral industry missions and commercial technology pilots. Each track is designed to move from institutional intent to measurable industrial outcome within defined timelines.
