Registrations are officially open for the Swiss Hackathon 2026 — Orbital Infrastructure Challenge, a 100% Swiss national innovation initiative taking place from 02 to 04 October 2026 in Lucerne, Switzerland.
Organised under the SSIP ecosystem, the Swiss Hackathon convenes participants, teams, founders, judges, mentors and sponsors in a structured 48-hour live build environment designed to move deep-tech ideas from concept to demonstrable prototype.
The 2026 edition is built around six challenge tracks reflecting the strategic industries shaping the next decade of Swiss and international competitiveness: Space Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Biotech & Pharma, Cyber Security, Advanced Manufacturing and Digital Twins.
Participants will work directly on industrial challenges submitted by SSIP strategic partners, with dedicated mentoring from Swiss and international experts across engineering, research, industry and investment. The programme culminates in an executive pitch session in front of industry, government and investor representatives.
The Swiss Hackathon is designed as a working environment, not a showcase — teams are expected to leave Lucerne with a tested prototype, structured team dynamics and a validated technical direction. Selected projects gain access to further development pathways within the SSIP partner network, including access to strategic infrastructure, industrial validation environments and international market channels.
Registrations are open to engineers, researchers, entrepreneurs and students from Switzerland and abroad. Places are limited and allocated on a rolling basis.
